MCL knee BIG problems!

I have had pains in my MCL tendon in my knee for months and today i cant even put my knee strait. Its the left one and it makes a pop when i put it strait every time and it had given out a few times. I dont want to go to the doc and have them say its nothing. And of all things get a MRI there BIG $$$. Did anyone else have this problem and how i can i keep the pain down.
 
Safe to assume you do not have health insurance??
 
Advil, 2--4 of them. 600--800mg used to be then normal dose until it was sold over the counter . That should help with the pain and swelling.

Don't know about knees but my left ankle is bad by breaking it long ago and refusing to get pins and screws put in. When it hurts I wrap it tight with those stretchy cloths for a few hours.

A cane helps you walk without using the bad leg as much. Yeah even most 70 year olds refuse to use a cane but they work. If you baby the leg for a few days it might get better on its own.
 
A knee brace or a knee immobilizer is usually needed for comfort, and healing may take 6 weeks or longer.

No i do, just that i go and they say its not a fractured kneecap but it was. I could see the hair line fracture and they say that your fine. I hate it. And thanks guys i will do just that.
 
You need to come to Huntsville, Alabama and go to TOC they are great. I was told my knee cap was out of place by a doc n a box. Got to them got a x ray. Well it was my MCL. MRI that night and 2 weeks late surgury and all is well.
 
MCL tendon??? MCL is a ligament on the inside part of your knee, where if you would knock your knees together.

Are you talking about your patellar tendon, that big mass below your knee cap? Probably tendinitis if it is.
 
If you got insurance find another doctor.

Thankfully my knees are fine so I can't help you much. 6 to 8 weeks might be correct, my lower leg was in a cast for 4 months, longer then normal but was a bad break. I dump the doc that put the first cast on and found a different doc. They didn't like it and made me agree I would not sue if problems happen
