Truck 727 for my 64 Dart?

Hi guys,

I got a chance to pick up a 727 from a 1/2 ton pickup for 100 bucks, I believe it is in OK condition, does that sound like a good price, and I think I saw on here it will fit my Dart if modify the body seams,(ie, bend them down?) I want to mate this to a 360..

i put one in my 65 dart wagon notched seam in several places knocked flat with hammer 340 with 727 slipped right in i lfound that out the hard way knock it flat before you even try
 
Hi you should thake the identification number off the side of the transmission just above the pan. Then run it through the decoder to see what it is out of first make sure it was not a big block.My concern would be a lot of 727's out of a truck D100 or D200 most of them have a longet tail shaft. it will tell you that once you run the number through the decoder.
 
Hey guys,

It was not a big block, but was a 4X4, has the short shaft and shaft housing, got it for $55
 
4x4 won't work unless you change the output shaft and extension housing. its probly a lock-up anyways.
