Just got this in the mail today

Make sure you have a coil that will work with electronic ignition. I swapped mine over 2 years ago with an autozoo '73 distributor and black ignition box and a Summit Racing harness. 2 weeks later, the car backfired and died leaving me and my sister (and her kids) stranded on the side of the road. The electronic ignition fried the coil. So me and dad went back to autozoo and got a '73 coil. It's worked fine ever since.

Live and learn.

The 70 points coil and the 73 elec ign coil is the same exact part number.
Soo...........

What is the part number. Mancini told me that they couldn't get the slant electronic ignitions anymore...

This is not the original Mopar Performance slant six elec ign kit, which came with a recurved dist.
The original kit has been discontinued for years.

Mancini just put this kit together. Its just a remained dist, with a new cap and rotor. Throw in an Orange box,Mopar wire harness and ballast. Not to be a downer, but you could have pieced this together for less than $100.00.
Having said that,it will work great.

PS: Dont cut the connector, use it...The sky is not falling !!!!!!

Damn, wish I would have know I could have gotten it cheaper myself. Oh well...it runs again and seems to be really smooth. (I kept the connector on the distributor)

It's all good Keith. We all live and learn with these cars.
Sounds like your car is running well with it. That's all that matters.

With this new ignition the car fires up almost instantly plus the idle is 10 times smoother and the throttle response is very crisp and predicitable. Now it is time to start saving up for that new MSD Atomic kit and 4 barrel intake. It is going to be a very reliable driver.

If you go on their website is located under Ignition Parts then Electronic Ignition Packages.

There was also a guy on fleabay selling a home made kit for a lot cheaper

I look on feabay and could not find him. Do you have a link?

They must not have one posted on there now. Just keep checking and you will see it every now and then. You can also build it your self for a lot cheaper. You just need to go to the auto parts store and buy the box, distributor, and resistor. Then find someone selling the wiring harness.

Got it. I went out to Summit and found Cardone 100-303690 dizzy, a wiring harness P3690152, a Mopar Performance ECU P4120505, and a Pertronix Flame thrower II Ignition Coil (45,000 V) all for $141.00

Yeah I would have built it myself if I had known it would be cheaper to piece it together instead of buying a kit

Like someone said earlier, "darn, if I'd only known..." But then, I just ordered the kit from my desk instead of running all over town, and/or ordering parts online. Call me lazy - I prefer to think I just value my time.

Was that original kit distributor recurved like the other M/P kits that the advance all in real early??
