8-3/4 powr-lok

I have the 8-3/4 sure grip, dana powr-lok style. It has 2 thick & 1 thin clutch plate per side. The rebuild kit only comes with thick clutch plates, and says to re-use the thin plates. My thin plates have the ears broken off them.
So, what happens if I use all thick plates in this type of sure-grip? It will be tighter, I realize, but has anyone done this? Since I drag race the car, would it actually be better?

just redid mine. someone put the wrong clutches in it. it was locked up like a spool. yours will be to with the thick plates in place of the thin ones.
