Engine painting and alternative colors

-
I paint most of my engines black, looks good with all colors of body paint...

Painted the 350 i built for my father inlaw silver to match the rest of the motor.yes i know its horrible but he wouldn't go mopar thought it cost to much so i put a350 into his 280z about 445hp after 5k in parts lol but he likes my 360 better he won't admit it but i can tell he knows he should have gone mopar. He can't drive it right it has the new Corvette 5 speed and i still walk away Fromhim. But hey at least its not the 4 banger it had in it.

I have had a few Mopars with the engine bay done in black. In cases like this I do the engine in body colour...it makes it really stand out. When the engine bay is body colour, then I do the block factory colour but accent the Mopar Performance valve covers like others have done here.
The second pic, the car is all black with a sublime strobe stripe on the side..so the green matched the stripe.

What about using catalyzed acrylic urethane paint? They say it's more durable than enamel, but will it hold up to the heat? Your valve covers look AWESOME by the way. I've been looking for a way to find a paint color that is similar to my car, but will hold up to the heat. It looks like this is the way to go.

My engine is painted the same INDIGO BLUE as the stripe and trim on the car

Heavy clear coat so it it shiny and easy to clean

No problems with it to date and it has been several years

If I build a 69 dart big block the stripe and engine will be VIPER RED and yes clear coated
