Best Rechromers?

Looking to have the bumpers on my '72 Dart rechromed. Any good outfits in or near CT? In general, who have you guys had the most success with? Quality and price? Thanks!!
 
I know they aren't in CT. but Tri-City Plating does good work and their prices isn't bad either. They did mine and I am very happy.

I just got my rear 71 Dart bumper back from Keystone Automotive Industries
which is a division of LKQ which owns a plating company in Minnesota.You will need to google Keystone Automotive Industries to find a branch near you.Mine was $363 and they picked up and delivered it at no charge and they do great work.One drawback you can't be in a hurry mine took three months

Best , Sherms plating in Cali. Heard paulschrome in Pennsylvania is good also

Thanks! My friend's shop orders from Keystone quite often. I didn't know they offered plating services. I'll get a price from them.
 
Got a price from Tri-City in TN. $345 a bumper. Is that in the range?
 
Theres a place in East Hartford I belive.....I think it's call New england chrome plating. They generally have a tent set-up at some of the larger car shows around the area. I'v seen some of there work, and it looks nice, but I'm not sure about pricing. I tried to get them to re-plate some lil red express rims but they don't do rims for some reason? but they do bumpers, and trim. Try to google them.

Thanks, I looked them up a few days ago. I live in Waterbury and am in the Hartford area quite often. I may go and pay them a visit.
 
I got front and rear for my Duster from Tri-City they are nice quality. I didn't have mine redone just did the trade in at a show they were at

Your welcome....I'm thinking of having them plate a few smaller peices to see how they do. I just need to get off my butt, and get out there, and drop off some stuff..

I'll be up in Hartford tomorrow. I'll stop by there and let you what I find.
 
AIH Chrome in Iowa has a transferable lifetime warranty show quality workmanship. I have chrome from there that was done almost 20 years ago and still looks great not cheap but you get what you pay for with chrome usually
 
Tri-City quoted me 475-525 for rechrome and straighten last year. Mine is tweaked a bit. I don't think I can justify the money for a non show car, probably going with AMD on this. The small parts I will have rechromed though, mirrors, door handles etc. Any suggestions for places that do non-bumper parts (sorry to hijack but it seems related!).

They rough quoted me $350 per bumper. I don't need any straightening. You're correct, though. For a driver vehicle like mine, $700 plus shipping is a lot of cheese. Unfortunately, I can only get a rear bumper from AMD for my '72 Dart, not the front.

I'm hear to tell you that It's hard for me to believe that the high dollar chrome is that much better than Keystone but again I'm also a driver not a show queen.I bought the AMD front bumper and had Keystone do the rear.If I have time tonight I'll put them side by side

I thought I just saw an ad some where for dart rear bumpers from AMD. I'm thinking maybe they just released them, but I may be wrong. I just checked there website and they show a 70 dart rear bumper. I'm not sure what year dart you have...... is 71 and 72 the same bumper?
 
" scooby67" do you belong to "Mopars in Motion"? Your car looks familar from somewhere. Do you attend our Mopar shows? It's a great club !

They did mine. They have a plating company in South Alabama. They look good and have lated for over 10 years no problems.

No I don't belong to that club, but I've attended a number of shows around CT.

My friend is going to send them out for me through Keystone. He had his 64 Chevelle bumpers done and they are beautiful!!

I'm sending both out though Keystone. I can get the AMD front bumper, but mine fits well and is original. I'd like to keep it that way.
