I have manual steering in my 65 Barracuda to open up space... whats a good choice for a starter for my 360, running 9.0 compression......size matters I guess

thanks!!!

1992-1995 Dakota starters work, from what I'm told. They're essentially factory mini-starters, so they should clear the headers. Plus they're less than $100 and available anywhere/easy to return.

'99 Ram starter is smaller yet over the Dak starter. It's shorter, and what I needed to run Doug's headers on my '72.

Check the instructions that come with your headers... this is a 65, early A, starters

The 67+ cars don't have issues with most starters, the early cars do with headers.

Now it a std starter works with the dougs, a mini starter off any late model SB should be a go. There are some mini starter bodies that are longer than others, look for the short body.
