I have a set of small block covers that I got with a 340 I bought years ago. I will have to take a look at them tomorrow. The ones in the pics are big block aren't they? Agreed.

It was an obvious friendly heads-up to all the members who may have a pair of the valve covers in question and didn't notice if there was that tab or not. So that they can run out and pull their valve covers to see if it is indeed there, wasn't there, or if they need to check the inside of the engine.

Better to be safe than sorry, especially over something so trivial as a little piece of stray metal that could lead to damage.
