thanks for the recent pics,,, i dont see any 40s mopars,,, i called thsi week a woman told me oh there must be still some 1940s mopars,,, we are planning on heading up monday morning,,,2 1/2 hour drive,, if theres no 40 s mopars it will be a waiste of our time and expenses,,,any 40s mopars??? 1939 to 1950 ??? thanks

I would imagine there are at least 25 to 30 Mopars from the 1940's and 50's. I had about three hours to do what I needed to do and take some pictures. I honestly didn't scratch the surface, there are many more Mopars.

What type of parts are you looking for? If its body panels I'd save my time, they've been sitting in the weather for 50 to 60 plus years.

hey thanks for the quick reply,,, body parts would eb a plus but i figured there wouldnt be any worth wild,,, more or less suspension parts i think is what were looking for same stuff basically from 1940 to 1950 ,,,a 40 ply hoood would be kool to find thanks again,,

I probably removed the hood ornaments from about 10 1940's era Plymouth's. in fact i was intrigued by how many Plymouths were in the yard. I'm assuming it's the same reason there weren't many Caddy's and Packards. This is the edge of coal country and the Plymouth was the everyman car....same as Chevy....same as Ford. In fact, I'll bet those are the most common trio of manufacturers in the yard.
The Duster in my photo with the moss growing on the side is the one I got the 8 1/4 out of this weekend. I should say they pulled it and I picked it up. He charged me $300 for the rear and two drive shafts. The one from the Duster had a kink in it so he gave me another longer one and the Duster shaft for measurement.
He's a good guy, he doesn't give the stuff away but I think charges a fair price.

Last time i was there was when i took those pics., judging by your recent pics. alot is gone and moved around.
There wasn't a lot of good usable parts anymore when i was there, these cars have been sitting in the elements for way to long also he was a bit high on his prices he quoted us $200 for a V8 K-member out of a Dart!

2 topics on this story,,,on this site

was there today monday,,, he says half the cars are gone,,,the rest will take about 2 years,, there is no crusher there now,,scrap pirces up there are too low,,

a hand full of 40 mopars,,,early 50s mopars,,a few mid 60s mopars,,

the pic of dart above vinyl top trim all intact u remove it 100 bucks

VOLARE/ASPEN guys,,, there are a set of quarter window louvers in his shop,,, a few clips missing,,but nice shape,,,the car is in the yard with the windlw plugs if u wanna convert to the R/T OR ROAD RUNNER quarter windows,, a 57 mopar wagon,, 1 68 notch back 1 67 fast back,,several dusters and dart sports,, some C bodies,, a few 40/50 pick ups,,,

he seems reasonable on prices if u remove the part,,, i bought a pair of 1940 dodge fenders with the valance and hood linkage on both fenders,, a few pin holes,,, stored in side kinda,, 50 bucks for the pair,, with the inner fender wells ,,,couldnt let um sit and get crushed,,,

buses ful of tail lites,,,hub caps,,,there is stuff there,, no real useable sheet metal from the 40/50s cars,,,,,was worth the 2 1/2 hour ride for the memories,,,,

I saw what looked like a 66 Valiant and a 66 Cuda in some of those pics.

How good of shape are the front grilles in the Valiant, if there still there?

If you find any Shelby K-Cars let me know. I may be buying an '83-'85 Shelby Charger and you won't find parts cars in typical yards.

Most if not all of this stuff is to far gone stripped and rusted.

there is nothing as that new,,only car i seen that was newer was a cavelier looks like some one drove it in and left it,,,most are from the 40 to mid 50s a few 60s a couple 70s most metal is beyond use but there are some pieces that are goood, 4 door 65 coronet has a nice hoood,,,,

Well, I know this car has been sitting in the dirt of NE Pennsylvania for around 30 years...best guess, so I'm guessing the frame is pretty rusted. I'll see how good the sheet metal is but as I recall, the interior was in decent shape. It might come down to making a trip to the yard and stripping what you need from it rather than having it towed to LI....but it's your call. I'll take some pictures and relay my impressions and give you Bob's number.
i was just there that dart GT is a venal top car that stainless is all in great shape if i had had the money with me at the time i would have pulled all that stainless i know some one is looking for that

Some beautiful old iron sitting around there. If it weren't so far I'd love to spend an afternoon there just for pictures. Pretty rare to find a Mopar in a yard here, let alone anything older than 80s.

Around my neck of the woods any cars of any make older than the early 90s is a rarity. Stuff just doesn't last in yards anymore.

As for the Cavalier...that sounds even newer that what I'm looking for. Feed it to the crusher for a snack :D

I've got a friend whose father is looking for the front bumper and side mouldings (lower front) from a 1990 chrysler Town and Country. I know it sounds silly but its a one-year only car and its very rare. We can't find any of the Chryslers around here and I see some newer stuff in these pics. Figured it would be worth a shot. If they have anything I'll relay the message to him.

I was up to see Bob a few years ago...probably 10-12 years ago at this point. After his Dad, Curt, died there were alot of cars moved out of there. I lived about 3 miles from there and about once a year my aunt would call Curt and have our yard cleaned out...I remember a 64 GTO convertible, 39 Plymouth Pickup, 41 Chevy Coupe, 63 Sport Fury Conv., 66 GTO, 66 Tempest, 63 Comet, 49 Ford Pick up (with the 389 tri-power out of the 64 GTO), 67 Firebird, 62 Impala SS conv, 62 Impala SS hardtop, 66 Impala SS conv, 64 Malibu SS, 62 Corvair, 59 T-Bird, 60 T-Bird, 59 Impala Conv w/348 4 speed,...and could probably think of a dozen more my aunt had Curt haul out of the yard. There was another yard right next to Englers that DEP got onto in the 80's to clean up and when alot of guys came from alot of places to buy his cars Curt and Bob sold quite a bit of stuff also. The side lot next to the garage used to be packed full of Corvairs...thanks for the memory...

Has anyone been up there lately this year in 2015? Anything left? Any C-bodies or Imperials?

Wizard

I was up there last year this time and again yesterday and it looked exactly the same as last year. I was going to buy what was left of that blue 68 charger but someone swiped the vin number and fender tag since I saw it last year so that discourages me from buying it same as the green 69 there no tags.

I was there yesterday. More a-bodies then B or E . Cars sat for a long time most sheet metal is rusted bad. Saw two Nice a body dash pads but I wasn't about to crawl into the car and reach under the dash. Saw a very large Rattle snake on the roof of a car in the sun. Drove around the yard and back through the cleaned out rear section. Many 8 3/4 rears still in cars and some laying loose. One E body Dana 60 laying in back section but it was rusted bad. cover rusted through.

I am going back for some parts I need for a Roadrunner next week. A cordless saws-all will be the tool of choice.
