Hey Saskatchewan members, are any of you working at the Agrium potash mine near Vanscoy, SK? I just got hired there, I start tomorrow. I'm renting a place in Vanscoy (about 20 minutes south west of Saskatoon) on a 14/7 shift. Let me know if any of you are near there, or work at the mine.

Congrats Mike! Contract work again?? How much they raping you for rent in Vanscoy?? You're approx an hour from Kindersley.

Yep, working for Alliance Energy, above ground, most likely night shift.

The place is $750 a month fully furnished, all utilities included. I get $145 a day LOA each day worked.

Winds today are reported to be over 90 km/h. And everything, including the personal tools we bring, rusts/corrodes from the potash.

Should be a good job!

Well, so far its not bad. I'm on night shift so it's a lot less crowded compared to day shift, but there's still a lot of people standing around. I'm on Temporary Power, should be on this crew until the job ends.

But hey, there's a small auto wrecker next to my bus stop. Some old Dodge vans, a '55 ish Ford 2 door, a Galaxy, some International's, and an early '50's Dodge pickup.
