So I was just getting around to taking out the dash on my 72 dart and it appears to me that the windshield has to come out to access the upper mounting bolts.. Anybody have a definite answer to if this is the case or is there an alternative without damaging anything?

If I remember correctly we had to take the windshield out when we took the dash out of my cousins 67 dart. Just be really careful when you are taking the chrome strips around the windshield, make sure you don't bend it because that stuff is sometimes hard to find.

Hopefully some other people can jump in here to confirm.

Bolts from the top under windshield gasket. This is a 75 duster, but pretty sure it's the same.

step 1: remove windshield. Step 2: install screws from the bottom. Your done!

You can leave the windshield in but you'll have to cut bottoms of the "J" nuts off from under the dash and push whats left of the bolts up through the hole and fish them out from under the windshield gasket. To re install the dash you put new "J" nuts on the dash instead of the body and bolt or screw the dash in from underneath. It's harder to pull the dash with the windshield in but it beats having to pull the glass and risk breaking it if you don't have to.

pull stainless
cut gasket
pull glass
remove gasket
clean lip and repair rust
remove dash
replace dash
order and install new seal
Competent glass guy install glass and seal, as well as SEAL the gasket.

These new seals are not seals, they just hold the glass, you have to have the guy put sealer on them or they will leak
