Spark plugs on turbo sb

-
Only info I've seen is to go a couple heat ranges colder to keep them from pre-igniting (from the electrodes getting too hot iirc). They can give you the part number at whatever parts store you go to. I prefer NGK.

What brand and part # plug on a steel head single turbo?

My experience has been heavy with the 2.2 and 2.5 engines leans towards not far from the factory plugs.

The 2.2 engines used the same plug as a 318, RN12YC. With the fuel injection you could get away with a 340 plug an RN9YC with no ill effects but I never saw any benefit even at 30 psi of boost.

Here is some NGK Tech Data for reading/understanding their part # designation....

I recommended you a B R 8 E S......as a general recommendation for turning up a SBM with some boost....

Its a Very Conservative Recommmendation, as well.

You may find a NGK B P R 7 E S to be the best.....but heed my advice to stay with a Standard - Copper type spark plug....and dont go any hotter in your experiments than a 6.

Not enough information on the build.

How much boost?

What static compression?

Which ignition system?

.

which is what a BR8ES is......
