:eek:ops: I am changing my standard 4sp to a OD. I have both trany but the OD one has a bad shifter mount. SO... I decided to just change the tailshafts. Long story short in order to remove the OD tail shaft you have to remove the counter shaft to alow enough room to get the mainshaft out. I didn't realize there was a half moon key in there and sheered it in half. can I buy that "key" from somewhere like brewers or do I need to try and make one?

Brewers would probably have one, but I would check the local hardware in those pull out self help boxes they have. Most places around here carry them, I believe it's referred to as a woodruff key.

You got it. X2
They are not anything special, just to keep the rod from turning in the housing.

Tractor supply by me has a great assortment and believe it or not harbor freight has an assort if not critical.

Thanks, I was looking at the seal for the input shaft and its kind of dryed up so I should change it while I have it apart. I looked at rockauto and brewers and brewers price was just as good so I will get everything from them it just pushes finishing up to next weekend no big deal.
