Ok to coin a phrase ; ya got to think outside the box Certain suppliers (I'm not naming them) want us to use these new rocker molding clips that don't even come close ! the edge profile is all wrong and they are 1/8 " too long...half day of trimming 20 of these suckers and they still don't fit right ! I don't think so... Check this idea I came up with. Don't throw those old clips away. Re-drill the hole with a 21/64 bit; eliminating those broken fingers, push a "W&E firewall clip (#Z644) through the hole, I put just a little plastic epoxy behind the cap edges. The only other thing is to grind the dome of the head down just a little to clear the back of the trim. when pushed into the rocker hole they are not coming out, and you have the nice snap fit to the trim. They work beautifully.

these are 1964 barracuda rocker molding clips I would think the same for 65 and 66 if the molding is the same. The rocker hole is 5/16.

To avoid confusion ...it was the old clip retrofitted with the firewall stud. These new clips do not detent into the molding properly no matter what is done to them.

This is how I ended up doing my 65 Cuda's Rocker panel trim... As I could not find the original type... These (on the right) worked great !!!

where did you get those? what was the cost??????

@ swing69....
It was a number of years ago, but I think I got them at my local Dodge dealer... Don't recall costs either... But I just did an on line search and see BRADSNOSPARTS had them listed @ $4.50... Other places popped up... but I only looked @ Brads...

If you know a Body shop... show them the picture... They might know!!!

Sorry I could not find my receipt (I thought I had saved all that stuff) :banghead:
