I am starting to look for a new car for the wife and i am leaning to the new darts, just an se. Anyone have one? And if so how is it?
Thanks, ray

I'm in one now as a demo for work. Not a bad little car, easy on gas, nice ride. The one I'm in is dressed, and its a Rally so it does get looks, but that's the intent.
I will say this, the newest ones have a lot of quality issues worked out that the 1st ones didn't.

I picked up a 2014 GT last July. With 7000 miles no problems. They did a nice job upgrading the 2.4 with their multi-air head. Nice torque and it revs to 6400. The handling is amazing. The six speed manual is really good. I get 30 MPG blasting around. I put four Blizzak snow tires on and it works great in the snow. Loaded out with all of the discounts it was only 24K.

10 years ago that $24k would've got you a 230hp Neon SRT4 capable of 14.0s in the quarter mile, and still get 30mpg. 100% American too I might add! And actually you'd have almost $2k leftover from that $24k, which would get you a Mopar Stage 2 kit and make it a low 13second rocket!

The new Darts are ok, but putting the Dart name on it really bugs me.

But what do you expect, Chrysler is dead!

So get over it ok.:banghead::banghead:

Bought one for my Daughter and so far so good. She had one problem with the blend door not closing properly and the car wouldn't get warm inside. But that's it, It's a 1.4 Turbo with a 6 sp man trans. She loves the mileage it gets,

The only issue I'm going to have is when doing searches for Dart parts and having to wade through all the 'new' Dart parts and accessories for parts for my old Dart! lol

Have the same problem with finding parts for my Charger having to wade through all the crap for the 'new' charger. lol

I HAD a 2013 Aero. Was a great car for the first 4,000 miles. Clutch slave went out and left me stranded at 4,200 miles. Had it towed to the dealer and took almost 3 weeks to get back because the parts were not available. 5,000 miles the car had more rattles than my 71. Took 2 trips to the dealer and a week and a half to cure. 7,000 miles the trans starting grinding in to second and third gear (6 speed manual). Had the transmission replaced. 10,000 miles the 8.4" touch display locked up. Some software update fixed that. I never drove the car hard, it just fell apart. At 12,000 I traded it in for a 2013 Charger and I haven't looked back. Much happier with my Charger. Not quite the fuel economy as the rattle trap, but way more of a car for the money in my opinion.

Friend who is a Chrysler mechanic says the turbo cars have trouble in the cold (very cold) The variable timing for the valving freezes and sticks. The car just dies on the spot, any speed any where any time.
This is the only issue he has noticed. Early models had front window cracking issues when the cars were new just delivered to the dealer. The front windows would crack at the bottom corner frame, maybe from stress of the frame of the car moving and lack of stiffness? This issue was an early one and fixed. It was likely only noticed by dealers as the cars were always repaired before sale..... interesting

Wouldn't mind a six cyl with manual trans if available. Kind of like a modern 340 swinger, naaaa.

I have to agree, yes Chrysler is dead in the "Made in USA" Sense. I cant keep up with what foreign company owns them, it was Daimler, now Fiat?? Someone enlighten me and catch me up.

Yes my wife drives a '13 1.4L turbo 6-speed. easy on fuel is peppy for such a small motor buuuut.... 1st gear is real qiuck! 7 below 2300rpm yer not passing anything, soon as 2500 comes up turbo lites & yer gone! Was really thinken about a tunner that helps the throddle responce & turbo lag. all & all nice little car soo far.

The OP didn't ask for your opinion on Chrysler. He asked if anyone has a new Dart. You don't. So hush.

My youngest Son bought one and it has held up well and that's saying something cause he drives everything he has right into the ground.

If your looking for power don't. But if you want a good family car that only gets 28.5 mpgs on town. Than they are great. They sure handle and ride better than my 69.

Amazes me how you continue to get away with your rude comments, I see them time and time again on this site, astounds me further that you are at some level a self proclaimed Christian.

I understand its easy to be an internet toughguy but I would be careful, one day your going to insult someone that has access to your scrawny little neck and is going to teach you some manners.

Now go ahead and show the world how much more immature you can be by backlashing at me for making this post whilst you sit warm and snug behind your keyboard.

I just recently bought a 2014 with 1,200 miles on it that looks like the one pictured. It's sideswiped and doesn't have any doors on the driver's side so I haven't driven it yet.

My first impressions are positive so far. It's roomy and has a nice interior. As far as the build quality, it seems to be well made structurally. I'll update once I fix it and start driving it.

This is my wife's and she loves the car. It still looks new inside out. The thing has a trunk for a little car.

The wife has a 99 firechicken convert that is her daily driver since our Yukon trans went out and not really worth fixing. The car has all of a sudden been needing a ton of work. Good weekend car not a daily driver. She had a 96 Neon that she bought it 98 and really loved it...It was one of the few good ones. I figure this would be a good fit for her.

Seen you do some similar stuff. Like just then ^^^^ Don't judge me for sinning differently than you.

But you're right. It was a little harsh, so I went back and changed it.

i had one, traded it for a challenger

both are great cars. make sure you get the good radio / nav not the cheapo.
also make sure you get the backup cam (i got spoiled with the dart, so had to pay 400 bucks to get a spoiler with cam for the chally)

dart got better mileage. i was getting 34.5 avg
i had a limited with turbo. very peppy. handles well.

challenger is a better road car if that makes sense. best way i can say it. handles almost like the old '72 i had a long time ago. 23mpg (that's with the 5.7L).

forget all the naysayers/complainers. if they were alive in the early '70's they would have been complaining about the darts back then lol.
