1973 JF1 Cars
This was my Duster. Ordered it from Coon Rapids Chrysler-Plymouth in Coon Rapids, Minnesota in April 1973. I got it the last week I was in High School. It was ordered as a 340 car EXCEPT it had a 318 due to insurance costs for a 18 year old making $2.00 an hour. Had the heavy duty suspension, front disc brakes, black vinyl interior and rally wheels with e70x14 Goodyear Polyglas tires. It's sticker price was a little over $3,100.00 and I bought it for about $2,800.00. It made trips to Southern Missouri, Illinois and Southern California (where it also visited Orange County Raceway and Famoso Raceway). I ran it a few times at Minnesota Dragways and it ran high 15s. Kept it four years and sold it to a friend of mine when it had 90,000 miles on it and some rust since it sat outside most of it's life. A few months later someone ran an intersection and that was the end of this car. I know have a 340 Demon but have always wanted a 73 340 Duster that I could recreate this one.
