Just bought this

What are you hunting? Grizzly Bears ?

That's a big heavy rifle to lug around in the woods, but it will do the trick.
 
Yup, I carry a 20lb climbing stand and a 12-15 lb gun to my Tree !! Usually 1000 yds away.
 
Oh, that's a beautiful rifle. I wanted one of those pretty bad, and still do. You don't just stumble across a Garand that is still in good shape with a good barrel etc. and has all the original numbered components. I did buy a Springfield M1A standard until I come across one. If you get tired of that, keep me posted.
 
So the garand arrived today. Torn it down and made sure it was nice and clean inside. Now Im sitting here holding it while watching a Band of Brothers marathon! :D
 
So I grabbed some ammo and went to the range.

*Bang, Bang, Bang, Bang, Bang, Bang, Bang, Bang, TING!*

"Heheheheheh!"

*Bang, Bang, Bang, Bang, Bang, Bang, Bang, Bang, TING!*

"Hehehehehe!"

*Local Constable I've met a couple times, who was there off duty, shooting, comes up to me*

"Excuse me... are you... giggling?"

"Um... yes?"

"M1 Garand right? Mind if I give it a go?"

"Go right ahead!"

*Bang, Bang, Bang, Bang, Bang, Bang, Bang, Bang, TING!*

*He starts giggling*

Glad you are getting a good giggle factor! (and yeah, with ammo prices these days, 'ka-ching' may be more accurate than the traditional 'ting')
