I've seen a BUNCH of questions about front suspension swaps. Some are to get rid of or change bolt patterns for various brake or wheel combos. Some are for the Slant to V-8 K member swap etc. I have very little experience with the Early A's in this regard. I know when I put a 71 Duster V-8 K member under my 68 Dart and used 74 Duster control arms with 85 5th Ave spindles and brakes I also had to use the 74 steering box and linkage. You can see the 68 slant steering box and linkage at the bottom. Notice the joint on the pitman arm comes up from the bottom and the center link has almost no drop to it. The later box has an arm where the joint points down and both 6 and 8 cylinder cars used the center link with a drop some years. The actual steering linkage is where you can get into trouble trying to mix and match. I used the 74 Strut rods on my later arms so I didn't notice what the exact difference is in the early and late strut rods so chime in. My 68 stuff was 9 inch drum with small ball joints which was not going to work with my 5th Ave spindle and brake swap. Someone also mentioned pivot shaft differences for lower arms on some models? If some of you have ideas on how to organize a compatibility list like a spreadsheet perhaps with columns of year model groups that are unique, which fit all etc... with intersecting part names maybe? Just a thought.

The 73 & up strut rods use thicker bushings than the 72 & down, 73 & up rods have course threads on the bushing end, 72 & down have fine threads. Either ones can be used provided you use the correct bushings for the rod.
