1971 Pace car

We wnet for breakfast this morning and as we are sitting in the restaurant here in Oean City Maryland a 71 Challenger Vert drives by with the official pace car logos on it. SO i googled it and found it was the pace car that year. Then I find out its the only pace car to have ever wrecked while doing its duties. Made an interesting read up on it.

They originally blamed it on the driver and or car , but it was neither .Someone had moved the orange cone where his breaking was supposed to begin on that day , and the driver or no one else new it had been .I once read this in a magazine a few years back now .
