To replace the 90* Oil Filter Adapter Gasket, does the motor mount need to be unbolted and the engine jacked up to get the adapter bolt out? How much oil will be lost, just the quart in the filter?
Thanks. I just don't want to get caught in the middle unaware.

You should be able to get at the bolt without having to move anything, oil loss will be minimal.

Thanks! Remover filter, then it should come off! I just changed the oil and I think I must have dislodged it and the gasket wont reseal between the adapter and the block. I got the new gaskets so this will be tomorrow's evening project! Thanks oldkimmer and rod440!

Felpro has the large circular gasket seperate as opposed to the MP 3 piece gasket kit and I think the Felpro one is a slight bit thicker & seals better. Be sure to clean the block recess well and Permatex 99MA "high tack" the red spray gasket cement/glue works very well for keeping it in place as you raise the adapter in place against the block. Some gasket cement on the thin gasket under the outer bolt head & 50 ft lbs on the bolt and on a perf app you can port the adapter as it has some sharp edges that impede flow and there is the thick cork gasket that goes on the bolt on the inside. Mockup ahead of time so you know the exact clocking you want the filter to point at then raise it up in that position as you do not want to rotate it once it is up against the block. EDIT Might be Felpro 70078
