do these flexplate to converter bolts have washers of any description, or do the bolts just get torqued up with loctite and no washers...Have seen somewhere some type of star washers with these???
No washers and the bolts should have a thin head, otherwise they may hit the blockdo these flexplate to converter bolts have washers of any description, or do the bolts just get torqued up with loctite and no washers...Have seen somewhere some type of star washers with these???
Blue thread locker will be easier to remove the bolts if needed. If you use red, you need a torch to get them the them loose.Use blue or red lock tight, I have seen them back out on 2 separate occasions.
ARP wants their lube under the head, NO washers. I use blue locktite and torque to 90#s.
Somebody needs to specify if they are talking about the 7/16" bolts or the standard performance OEM 5/16" bolts when suggesting torque specs. It is the same bolt! Am I over torqueing the converter bolts?
If your torqueing to 90 ft. lbs yes your overtorqueing them. Even if their the 7/16 bolts they only get torqued to around 60. Are you possibly thinking of inch lbs?It is the same bolt! Am I over torqueing the converter bolts?
Good catch. Since most of the stuff I do are standard repairs they use std 5/16 bolts so I automatically think of them.Somebody needs to specify if they are talking about the 7/16" bolts or the standard performance OEM 5/16" bolts when suggesting torque specs.
