Sitting around watching it ran, flood watch alert going on so I checked out the list for dusters and parts. There's an ad on there, that's been up before for a 73 duster. First time was, make any offer of cash. Well he really wanted $1800.00, it's a /6 missing carb, rear wing window, trunk has been pryed open with a crowbar heavily damaging the trunk lid and taillight panel. Non running for years in a field. It's back up at $1200.00, trades, part trades or best offer. Thinking about building a 2nd big block duster. Body work isn't an issue, we have tackled worse. What do you think it's worth as a reasonable offer to him? I've not figured out how to post the ad on the thread, I'll ask my kids to help me later, but if you want to check it out, it's listed on the Dorena, Oregon craigslist. "73 plymouth duster project" $1200.00 any suggestions welcome. Maybe it's more of a parts car then I think it is. Let me know what you think.

73 Plymouth duster Mopar project

You are welcome lol.... The body don't look bad but it's only a picture.... If I wanted it for myself maybe 700.00. If I wanted to flip it the man would be insulted.

But I am probably the last person to believe these A Body's are the next 67 Mustang Fastback lol...

yea - that's a 6-700 dollar shell..

Thank you for getting the link posted up for me. I'm not super computer savvy obviously, lol, would rather work on older stuff. I think I would insult the guy also if I made him an honest offer of what it's worth. Part of me thinks to just keep watching the ad and let him talk himself down. While I think like you guys the A-body is a sweet platform, it's no 68 barracuda 340. I would love to get the rig for $300, especially since I am looking at a 3.5 hour round trip to get the car and back home. I'd be in $200 in fuel and feeding my teenager to get him to help load it.

If the year doesn't bother you the price range isn't unreasonable. I'd be concerned about floor and undercarriage rot. considering what it will cost to restore that car a few hundred dollars on the purchase means very little. Offer him 500 and see where the final number lands.

window out could mean disaster for the interior. Trunk lid is no biggie, but how much did they damage edges around it? low to the ground...did it sit there in a field since last run 500 sounds like a fair start if the 'frame' ain't swiss cheese.

That's what I've been thinking the car is worth. We just put quarters, trunk pan, inner and outer driver rear wheel well, floor patches both sides and of all places under the driver rear pop out window inner structure metal on our last other '73 duster. So the work and sheet metal of these cars I'm well versed in. As my son and I did all the sheetmetal work in our driveway. But it did sound like it's been sitting in the marsh since he drug it home from what he said last time I approached him on it. That's when he said he wanted $1800 for it.
