1965 Barracuda with auto on the floor. I am trying to go stock seats, but don't have them yet. I am trying to figure out how much space will be between them for a potential custom center console? A measurement at the thinnest point would be fantastic!

Space in question in red from online image.

Whatever the width of the console is will be what you have so that the seats can be moved fore and aft. If you use 66/67 seats, the width is considerably wider so that a coffin or custom console could be used. I'm using 66 seats in my wagon so I can use a buddy seat (or custom console).

I measured my cars. The space is between 3-1/2" and 3-3/4". Looks like it depends on the upholstery and foam buns. The piece of wood in the photo is exactly 3-1/2" long and will stay between the seats of one car if placed carefully. My gold car is a full 1/4" wider at 3-3/4" and my othger one with red seats is just between those two.

Man that is close! Thank you both, I guess I am certainly going with the 66-7 seats. I didnt realize these are basically a bench. ha
