A little trial and error is in a mechanics realm of activity. Many here have done things with out previous knowledge on a particular subject.
Since they almost have a "no user serviceable parts" note attached, I may never have pulled a cone sure-grip apart had I not read a "How To" post by RRR in post #2 (thanks again Rusty).
