The 69 Barracuda finish panel for the trunk on a non formula s or cuda package car is silver inside with a fish emblem. The formula s cars were black in the center with a circular formula s badge. Here's my question, Is the badge on a 69 formula s deck lid finish panel the same as the badges used on earlier formula s barracuda's (65-68) fenders.
If not, does anyone know where or how to get one. Im trying to make a repop 69 finish panel correct with the badging. The repops look very nice and painted black correctly but have no formula s badging.
Has anyone done this before? Any ideas or solutions?
Thanks, Lou

The 69 badge is unique. I have one, but it is in only fair condition. I am sure it could be redone, but I believe that would be spendy. Rod

Thanks for the info. I figured that would be the case. I’ve never seen one for sale before. I see these repop finish panels and they look great but have no badge.

No. They are not the same. There was some reproductions available some years back. I bought one to do just what you’re trying to do. I don’t know if any are still available. Mark

Ok, so know I know that they’re not the same and thanks to both of you for that. If anyone could sell me an original or repop badge I woul greatly appreciate it.

I bought two from Layson a number of years back...not sure if they have these anymore...IM thinking they dont. Re-finished a standard tail panel to the Formula -S and installed the emblem. Right idea looks great!

They are back in stock I believe. Thats what they said at Carlisle or would be any day

I was on the site last nite and it seems they are in stock. How do you install them to the panel. Glue or epoxy? Or do you drill holes, push the studs thru and crush or bend the studs? I would think screws would be to big and scratch the trunk lid.

Hmm I saw the 68 ones, but not the 69. Anyway, the holes will not line up with the fish you remove but you can still cover the old holes with the emblem. The studs could be crushed but that requires proper tools. A silicone/epoxy will hold it in place.

You can use "3M" double sided auto trim tape. Might have to trim off studs tho. I install a Formula "S" badge on the tail gate of all my Dodge Ram trucks, and it never falls off.
