Hey folks - Looking to buy a NOS or replica of the GT plastic emblem insert for my 1963 Dodge Dart GT convertible (see pictured attached). I have all the chrome finish trunk hardware, but just would like to find a better looking "Dodge GT" plastic insert. The one I have that you see here has been glued together a few times and actually is encased in clear plastic tape because its so brittle. Any sellers or suggestions on where to buy much appreciated. I'm in Phoenix.

That's a tough one.. I ran into a major wall trying to find one of those myself. Out of frustration, I had one made. Actually, I cut a piece of Lexan the same size, beveled and polished the edges and had a buddy make mirror image decals out of vinyl to stick to the back of it. And he used a special adhesive tape to fix it to the Stainless molding. I'm sure he can duplicate it, if you're interested..

Wow that's really cool and looks like a great alternative. I'm still looking for NOS, but am interested in that as well... Neat how you made it DART instead of DODGE.. and the color looks fantastic.. your red Dart looks like mine..... You should post his website or contact info here for future generations to read.. or send me a DM if its a private party - thanks a bunch!

Thank you. I was forced into this type of alternative, cause I didn't have the bezel for the emblem like you do. There was another possibility for a emblem I stumbled upon online. Look below.
But since I was re-inventing the wheel, sort to speak, I decided to do something different. So, that's what we did. BUT, since you have the OE bezel, I'm confidant we can duplicate the original piece. BUT, a new piece of Lexan will have to be machined to fit under the bezel like the factory one, and it will be 'flat' not 'curved' like the original.
The guy who did it has been in business for over 30 years. Luis has done several things for me over the years, including a Hockey Stick for a Cuda' I once owned. Luis' primary business is signage, banners, and embroidery for shirts, hats, and jackets. No website.
Luis is both talented and meticulous. But, unfortunately, not cheap. The decal work he did on mine was $80. (important note: Luis will not be able to duplicate the 3 dimensional look, like on the 'Dodge' in the pic below.)

I can send you some pics of his work, if you would like to see what else he has done, if you would like.. ? In the mean time, I'll call him. Fair enough?
