hello all. I am just getting ideas before I go get the parts car. I think I found a 72 duster, /6 3 speed manual bench seat car with a 8.25 rear end in it, now being a /6 3 spd manual car would the rear end be better than like lets say 2.73 ratio. maybe 3.23, or even on a better day 3.55, the rear is what I want for the 65 barracuda.

I may be wrong but i believe that Dart/Duster didnt have the 8.25 till 1973. Also the 8.25 is big bolt pattern. The rear could be a transplant.

I will see if I can get picture and year for sure. if the guy will let me under it. its been sitting since 84

well the owner is this old guy and is a bit touchy about people on his property, he likes the money I offered him but doesn't want to let go of it, you know the story, "I am going to fix it" the old lady, she is more like take them all

Be patient, she is putting more pressure on him than you. Don't let him dangle it in front of you and make a bad decision. All of the rubber is completely rotted everywhere and must be replaced inside the transmission everything. Oh yeah main seal dry as hell it will start leaking immediately.

well its a 73, there is a tag but couldn't reach it or read it. I saw somewhere that /6 cars that were manuals had a little bit of lower gear in it, not talking about 4.10 but perhaps 3.23, 3.55..... I got a 8.75 housing from a 68 dart that was ordered for taxi duty so has anybody come across this info as well. this 72 was a find yesterday on the way to get picture of rear end, different guy owns the green car ya i bought it

I’m on a small cell phone but the tag says 3.21 gear ratio. -jed

You realise that the 73 8.25 is big bolt pattern. If you already have an ABody 8.75 why are you looking at the 8.25

mmmm ya that 8.75 is in one of my other cars so I have to work backwards which is still moving forward from the 7.25 in the 65 barracuda.
