halogen headlights

i am wondering if there is a cheapish upgrade for my headlights, cuz i want something brighter, but i dont want leds so i was wondering if sombody here has done any hologen lights or if it can be done and if so where can i get em?

This is probably the best bang for the buck. That seems to be both subjective consensus and based on objective testing.

The relay system is really a good idea on our A-bodies for two reasons.
1) The headlight circuit is relatively long with many connections and only 16 gage and 18 gage wire. Vibration and moisture cause oxidation and loose connections which creates additional resistance. In various a-bodies I've partially melted a headlight connector, a head switch connector, and had the circuit breaker open while driving on a dark interstate.
The original 6012 headlights were rated at 40W/50W. They were generally superceded by slightly higher draw 6014 50W/60W bulbs. All those mentioned above will also draw slightly more than originals.

2) Bulbs run brighter as the voltage goes up.
