Fuel sending unit size

I'd like to order a new gas tank and sending unit, but my car is on a carrier somewhere between Calf and Florida.. Tank is no problem but they show 2 size sending units. 5/16 and 3/8 what's the different ? small and big block or ? I have a 318 engine
 
Hi. You didn't say which year/model car you have but with the 318 you should have a 5/16 line. The 3/8 sending unit also has a nipple for a return line where the 5/16 does not. Hope this helps. Bobby
