Lower Cost Cam for LA318 part 2 :
As I've been Trailblazing Agent for an Australian Camshaft line/brand since 1990 ( ALSO at the time had 1 of the 2 Founding Partners of then Competition Cams phone me from States asking IF I wanted the Australasian Distributorship: eat your heart out pantypal360), had involvement since at least early-mid 70's with NZL's top Cam grinding Co & have had my own line of Custom ground & reground Cams,(& STILL DO) I'm afraid I DON'T take kindly to some faceless fruitloop Continually having a crack, cutting n pasting ( out of context etc, having to do net search's to try & get a handle on the self explanatory ) Trying to trip me up, bullying type accusing crap not in your dreams said to ones face , so against my better judgement, I've incl pics of Both New billet unused OEM grind Cams: 360 2bbl on left, std 318 Can ( M military) lobes on right. Same base-circle diameters: Its Plainly obvious ( to my skilled experienced eye anyhow ) which is the bigger lobe ...I can look at many Cams & tell pretty much straight off, particularly cams side by side, looking at paired intake & exh lobes whether they are narrow or widely ground lobe spread,roughly how aggressive & few other trucks of trade. All it takes is a lathe even or cylindrical grinder set up to measure a cam. The Jerk events on the 360ci 2bbl Cam are pretty smooth, Even & nothing horrible, like a couple if spots on SBC OEM 327/350 Hyd , & SORRY PANTY SCRUNCHER: There's obviously, given the tad extra lift, quite a bit more 'area under the curve' than the VERY mild 318 std Cam. Sorry Pal, IS the Cam business part of 1 of your vocations ?? Hmmm (skidmark360) ?? - not above poster , who's level of basic comprehension is increasingly Elementary school, IF that.
I've had & measured both Cams: I've done my homework.

Well, that's a somewhat ambiguous comment, but like the guy in Finland, it could all depend on what your transport/shipping costs etc are & ultimately the original suitability v buying cost can have a big bearing on if cost effective or not ( or as others have noticed whether a certain someone's knickers' in an increasing twist, keeps leaving his skidmark on more threads )
