Hi all,
greetings from Alaska! Even though I don't own a C body, I've been a member over there for a while, as the radiator (and possibly the 440) in my '70 AAR came from one.

Anyway, I've been meaning to get over here and join, as I have a 318-2V '69 Barracuda, that has been sitting in storage since I got it 10+ years ago. My main joy is the AAR, and I'm working on getting it back on the road again, as it too, sat in a cold, dark cannery building for over 10 years.

My main issue now, is what to do with my '69. I drove it there, with a tire blowing as I pulled off the highway, and the brakes fading out too. My goal was to "restore" it, and have a small block driver (love the lines on these "Baby Road Runner" cars!). But, time marches on, and the amount of work needed to get it going again is starting to outpace my attention, and future funding.

I have a bunch of pics I took a week ago, and plan on starting a "save, or scrap?" thread here when I find the time. So, yes, it has rust issues, but is still a complete, (somewhat) original car. And, most everything is there. One half of me says pull the engine/tranny, salvage all the good parts, and drag to the salvage yard (AKA the Crusher). The other half of me says, "no way, it's not too far gone to kill off!":(

I live on an Island, about 700 miles North of Seattle, and that is the main issue. If I was "down in America", I imagine I would have no problem selling it (for a realistic price), and someone who can weld in patch panels and stuff, would have a great project. But! the shipping to get it to Seattle is almost $1K.

So, there's my story, and I'll post up some pics after a while.

Pete? How is rainy Ketchikan.

I miss the people, but not the place. ;-)

Hi Barry,
yep, good guess! It's been very dry and cold for the past 6+ weeks, and we just got some snow & rain yesterday. All of SE is on diesel, as the lakes are down everywhere. Praying for rain seems weird for here, but that's where we're at.

Here's a few pics of the car (I have lots). The ugly pics will go in the save, or not? thread.

I remember that one.

An Alaska state ferry employee would park it on the south side of the fence just outside the post office parking lot.

It was sold to a guy that worked at NAPA, I do not recall his name? Mark maybe?

He has not worked there in years, I think he had a twin though?

Ben could tell you his name.

I sold him some parts when I parted a very rusty '68 fastback.

The 50 Year Reunion for the AARs & T/As will be held at the Carlisle show in 2020, you should come down!

Yep, again!
Next Summer, huh? That would be a blast to get it on a road that goes somewhere, again! It hasn't been off this Island since '92, or '93.

Here are a few of the "ugly truth" shots:

My son lives near Hanes up in your neighborhood I would guess.

Welcome aboard! 67 and 69 fish owner here. Save it, (ez for me to say) but my 69 vert was in worse shape.
