Well, I know I had seen a thread of "shots from the garage" or something along those lines but after looking for the last hour I cannot find it. So... I have been working on my mini tubs on the Duster and my daughter has been helping me in the shop. She always likes to hang around out there with me so I always try to find something for her to do. She mastered the angle grinder on the 8 3/4 so I put her to work blending the trunk floor/frame welds. She is 7 so I just leave the fiber disc on and let her go to town. I took a few pics and when she saw them she said maybe I could put them on the "Mopar racecar computer". lol She means here. So....:D

That's the good stuff right there man. Relish every moment. You're gonna blink and they'll be 18 year old young ladies bound for college like my two girls.

Be well,
Pat

Back when my helpers were 11 years old... Where did the time go? :(

Awesome. Encourage her all you can, today's youth are the future of our hobby. :)

Thanks all. Yea, It does seem to go fast. Seems like yesterday she was a baby. Divenut, I know what you mean, that's why I try to take the time to slow down and make sure she can help. I'm dreading the day that she doesn't have time for old dad anymore. :(

Bit of un-solicited advice...and if I am crossing any type of boundary I do apologize....I walked away from my parents...for several reasons. The big one was our relationship never evolved...on my mothers end. She never accepted the fact that I was no longer her "baby boy", that I had turned into an adult. Really difficult to be 30 some year old man, with life falling apart around him and still be treated like a child. Hell, when she found out I was going to be "back home" for a visit...and I have both arms and legs sleeved with ink she told me that I better keep that *hit covered up when I was in her house..tried several times to explain to her that it is just art, does not change who I truly am...and that it was far better therapy than a shrink in dealing with the disaster I was enduring....she just refused to accept it....lol...

That is awesome. Encourage her at every opportunity. My oldest daughter would help me on cars whenever she could. The youngest.....no interest whatsoever. My daughter and I both have great memories of working on cars together and I tease her about her calling them shockmasobers and car B raters when she was real young whenever I get a chance. The good thing is she can take her car to a shop and has a pretty good idea if they're being straight. If not she's confident enough around cars to tell them what she thinks. She kind of enjoys watching the look on their face when they discover a girl knows something about cars

No apology necessary. If you mean to not always treat her like a baby I completely agree. We push her to take care of her own stuff and have her own responsibility's with just about everything. She feeds and waters all her chickens, collects the eggs, sales them herself, and has her own savings account to put her money in. She also takes care of her dog herself and her ducks. I hope that this will lead to her being self sufficient and confident in taking care of whatever she faces in her life. With that said though she will always be my little girl.

Thanks. You are correct, as someone that has been managing shops for almost 20 years it stands out and is always a pleasant surprise when a young lady comes in and starts dropping diag. opinions on you. Especially when she's correct. I have had it happen a few times.

That's awesome. At one time or another I had both of my daughters helping me with car stuff.
Thanks for bringing those memories back.

That's so cool! My daughter (probably 11 years old at the time) helped me with the SSBC front disc brake swap on my '71 Dart GT. She's now 25 and living in the Chicago area.

My youngest boy is 3 and helping me with wheel cylinders on my 66 barracuda. The best part was him telling me I needed to use a 5/8 tubing wrench instead of the 3/8 on the brake line.
