Hi all.
New kid on the A body block.
I just picked up a 1964 Barracuda and I will be in need of parts and have some questions. Some of you may know of me, I believe I am on here via a friend, I am the guy with the yellow twin turboed truck.
I would appreciate any help and thank you for it.

Welcome to the wonderful world of FABO, glad to have you with us. I have some early Cuda stuff, I may be able to help!

Thank you.
My first obstical is the tranny.
I need the shifter cable as mine is shot, or I was thinking of getting a newer 904 and a matching drive shaft for the car.

"I need the shifter cable as mine is shot...,"

What's wrong with it?

In the early '60s Chrysler ran the shift cables into the transmission, so the inside of the cable was exposed to ATF, and would leak if it had a bad "O" ring, or if the outer rubber jacket was damaged. You could fix these by installing a new "O" ring, and/or placing fuel line over the cable and clamping it at both ends.

Then at some point, maybe by '64, they switched to a normal, "dry" cable that actuated a lever on the side of the transmission, so the inside of the cable was no longer exposed to ATF. I can't remember when they made the switch.

If the cable is broken, I would suggest contacting Pat Blais, "tflitepatty" on ebay, for a used one. He is a super nice guy.

There are companies on the 'net that claim to make new cables, but their delivery times run so long that IMHO they are "vaporware", so watch out!

Welcome new old guy. Have any pics of your car, I'd love to see them

It's always good to have another early A guy on here.

Thank you.
I've had a number of Mopars in my day ,my present one is a d150 twin turbo truck right now.
I've always wanted a 64 or 5 barracuda and then I came across this one ,definitely needs plenty of work but solid car with potential. These are the only pics I have at this time.
