Hi Guys,

I am looking to possible ordering a set of RC Comp Street Fighter wheels. The backspacing would be 7.5" with a 225/50/15 MT ET street R's. The car is a 72 duster with a stock width A body 8.75. Will there be any fitment issues with these wheels?

Yes. They won’t fit.

7.5” backspace? Is that right? How wide is the rim?

And a 225/50/15 is like 23.9” tall. 25” is pretty short for an A-body.

Also, have you upgraded to big bolt pattern? Because a stock A-body 8 3/4 is 5x4”, and I don’t see that as an option for any of the RC comp wheels.

With a stock A body 8 3/4 and stock spring locations, even with big bolt pattern axles, you’d be looking for 4.25” to 4.5” of backspace on a 15x7 for 225’s.

7.5 must be a typo. I have 15x8 with 4.25 BS and 275x60x15 Nitto's on my 68 Barracuda and that is about the max on BS I can handle. Stock A-body 8 3/4 with ss springs in the stock location.

I thought the same thing until I went to the RC Comp website. They’re 15x10” wheels with a 7.5” backspace.

So there’s a ton of reasons they won’t fit. Wrong backspace, the rims are too wide for stock spring locations, the tire is too narrow for that rim. And we don’t know if the car is 5x4” or upgraded to 5x4.5”, so the bolt pattern may be wrong for those rims too.

Lots going on there.

Not enough info to figure this one out. Maybe he has a B body 8 3/4 under it?

Wouldn’t matter if he did unless it’s mini-tubbed and 3” spring relocated. I’ve got a 68-70 B rear in mine, and even with a 1/2” spring offset I’m still only at 7” backspace with a 10” rim. Even that’s super tight on the springs. It works because I have 18” wheels but with 15’s even my specs wouldn’t leave enough room for the sidewall flex.
