I'm looking to get rid of most of my accumulated "junk" from the past 15 yrs of mopardom.

I figured, hey, load up the trailer and get a spot a Carlisle! Then, I started to read about the event.
$90 for a 10x30 spot. Dame: my trailer and truck is 30ft.! darn it. Looks like I'd have to disconnect and park elsewehre. Narrow, may need 2 spots. Now to $180. getting pricey. Then I look further into the paperwork.

Issue 1: Sales Tax Collection?????????? seems if you vend, you need to be registered to collect sales tax. WTF????
Anyone get a sales tax number for a 1 day effort? difficult? costs? worth it? any insight would be helpful.

Issue 2: can I sleep in my truck in the spot?

Thanks

Not sure how tax collection works for independent vendors.

People definitely sleep in their trucks, trailers, campers, tents, chairs, etc... on the fairgrounds. Bathroom facilities are kept up pretty well, so showering is decent.

I tried to sell there once and only once space was so small had to buy 2 $180 let's see × 4days. Wtf....oh yeah hardy no sells ,everything I had the guy next to me had 10 of everything I had ...with sleeping and eating prob dropped $1500 quick...made bout $275 ...I can hit a rinky dink show/swap and make 3k by 2p.m....If i go this year will be to purchase only!!!!

I had a space, just one, starting in the mid-90's, and kept it till about 2005. Swap spaces were cheaper back then, like $60-. When $100.- parts cars were plentiful you could make money. Those days are gone. I heard if you sign up at the show, swap spaces for next year are 2 for 1.

I get a spot. Yes they are tight when you have a vehicle on them. I think $90 is great think about it sleep in the truck for 3 nights definitely way cheaper than a hotel! Pretty sure they have a place to park trailers. Be a ***** to back that in on Friday. I go Wed to me it is so much easier to set up.

Hotels in Carlisle are pretty expensive (during the shows) and most of the less expensive are crappy IMO. Sleeping at the fairgrounds at that price is a big plus in my eyes. Lots of people tent on their spots. The show itself is great if you have never been.

Some members come and get a spot just to hang out. I give them some parts from stripper cars to sell so they look like a vendor.
