I went out racing for the first time this year this past weekend. Raced at Lebanon Valley on Saturday and Island on Sunday.
Saturday, the car was slow and popped a couple times down track. I played with jetting but was doing the same thing all day.
Started out with a 9.91 @ 134 and slowed as the day went on. The final pass of the day was a 10.16@ 129.
The good news was that I was able to run the numbers I dialed all day and had decent lights.
I won the race Saturday!
Packed up drove home . I was a little upset because I wanted to race at Island on Sunday for their Mopar race but I knew the car was hurt.
Sunday morning I decided to quickly check wires and plugs to start.
#5 cylinder plug was broken.
I've been through this before and should have thought to check it at the track.
The short story is I need to air up my slicks to back into the garage or my collector hits .
#1 tube is close to #5 plug so it can crack the plug if it hits.
I hit last year when I parked for winter and forgot to check it.
Anyway, I changed the plug and went to Island.
The car ran good so that was the problem.
I had a good day there too.
I made it all the way to the finals and went red.
1 red light shy of doubling up for the weekend.
It was a good first weekend out for me.
I forgot to mention that I just had hernia surgery and the Dr. wanted me to stay out of the car for 3 weeks.
Glad I didn't listen to his recommendation.

I heard about the turnout.
I'll be back there Saturday. I heard they just repaved the track today.

Nice!!!!
I was at Island Dragway for the Mopars at The Patch day. Beautiful weather but a very light turn out, attendance was down.

Yeah, that.
I went there to test on Sunday but decided to jump in on a race.
First 2 rounds I was playing with jetting and shocks and wasn't really concerned about the race. Just kept my foot in it for data.
Then I kept winning, so.....

Yup, I entered in M1 class.
I was the only one. So I guess technically I won on Sunday too.
They put me in the M2 class and I believe only about 16 cars.
That class used to have at least 30.
Island does nothing to help themselves out.
No advertising.
You have no idea how many people I spoke with that had no idea that race was happening.
I tried getting a few dates there to race with my club and got no response back.
I even spoke with Melissa in person and still never responded to me.
I have 7 documented messages that I sent with no response back.
I could have had at least 10 cars show up from my club.
Yet they complain about money and car counts.
If they don't want to help themselves, there's nothing I can do about it.
