Original tach in my 69 Barracuda. I'm driving along at 2700 rpm for 30 minutes or so with the odd stop sign along the way. I leave one stop sign and my tach starts reading about 1000 more rpm at the same speed I was going previously. It then corrects itself about 20 minutes later. It happened a few times during a trip.
Can someone tell me what is happening or the fix?

You can buy the new circuit board that fits right into the can and upgrade it to solid state. Also, I was told by the powers that be that if you want to lube the tach mechanism, only use Slick 50 “1” lube, no other lube is acceptable. The new circuit board also has a calibration feature, and direction how to do it. It was $79 when I bought it, not sure what it runs now!
