Need A Little help Please

Well, that went poorly. I am thinking in the OP’s case if it would be viable for him to switch to 5.13 gears first. That’s a given for the projected performance in the eighth. Then before determining anything else check the cranking compression and confirm that everything is where its supposed to be. If it were mine I would be checking the ICL on the cam and the piston to valve clearance to determine how much I could advance the cam. Coming up on the pipe late with little torque off the line would have me suspicious of the cam being installed with excessive retard. Not saying that the converter is optimum either, but if something simpler has the possibility to get the car closer to the intended performance goal i would be trying to optimize what I was working with first.

I'd go over everything with a fine tooth comb. The converter is not right but there is something else off too. IMHO at 2800# he should be running 6.5-60's now. I didn't see it posted but I'm guessing it has a 4" crank in it? If that's the case either the tune is way off or it's the cam. I've never seen a 4" engine that was "soft" on the bottom unless it was way off.

My Dart ran high 6.50's with 4.10 gears and a 28" tall tire, a 260/264 @ .050" flat solid at 3240# on pump 93.

I didn't see the compression mentioned but I'd verify that too.
