Hey guys I've boosted a few Mopar engines but made log manifolds.
I've seen a few guys reverse the factory manifolds around so they face forward. Can anyone tell me how they successfully joined the pipe to the factory manifolds without leaks. Welding a V-band to cast iron always runs the risk of cracking between the welds and the cast. I was thinking of machining the face flat on the cast and just using a plate to bolt straight up to it. Not sure if this will leak or not. Any help is appreciated cheers.

Never messed with boost/turbos, but why not weld the factory type pipe end to the turbo piping and just bolt it to the manifold like it should be?

Have a plate cut from 3/8 T-304 or the like. Have the center bored to a near interference fit with the manifold spigot and drill in two bolt holes to correspond to the manifold flange. If you've got V-band flange mount turbos already, have your male exhaust flanges welded to the plate. Or you can go with a four bolt flange style turbo mount on the plate, too.

I welded vbands to mine but now prefer the factory ball and socket type flanges that Walker makes. They are easy to bolt up and do not leak.

I think this is what subcom is talking about, from Walker:

I will likely use those for mine too, unless I have the muffler shop flare my ends and use a thick flange, like Dizuster did below:

I used stock magnum manifolds and the factory pipe flanges. No leaks and offers some movement.
