Buttoned up the 360 in my sons 78 Magnum and broke in the cam. This along with some donated parts from my 410 stoker (750 Street Demon and ported Weiand Action+ Intake) added a Lunati 256/262 Hydraulic, some Patriot headers, other drivetrain goodies, almost road ready, after break-in gave it a couple revs with the open headers.....brought a grin from him....a good day!
 
Spent about $1200 at A&A Transmission
Torque converter
Valve body
Flex plate
Misc....

Then spent $280 at Jeggs on an AMD rear valance. ..wanted to get one before they stop producing them...

Come on UPS!

Wondering how it survived in the trailer since it was put aside in late October. Have had lots of rain and some snow. Longest it was out there and hope the charcoal in a bucket is working well for moisture control! Garage is empty and want to bring it in but the yard is soggy and work keeps Me from finding the right day! Battery is still on tend in the garage. Maybe next week it can come out of hibernation all the for Christmas lights and such.

My engine looks like an engine! Apparently my LD340 doesn't like the cork ends for the intake gasket (and after looking here, not many do). Intake bolts failed to line up correctly. With a bead of tacky RTV and chasing a few threads, all good. Starter installed, pulleys installed, new MP valve covers installed, distributor bought....

Better news, I primed the engine and got 75lbs of oil pressure, and plenty of oil coming into the lifter valley and rocker shafts. What a great sight to see!

Unfortunately though my radiator /electric fan combo don't work. Fan motor hits the water pump, darn! To top it all of , the carb I was gonna use(Edelbrock 1406) ended up getting the secondaries JB welded shut... Why? Who knows! All I know is I'm glad I got it for free. Time to peice together a good carb and find a new cooling setup. One step forward, two steps back lol.

I'm doing nothing with my snow covered vehicles and below zero temps!!! LOL
 
Made progress on my march pulleys for my 340. I already had their power steering pump pulley, decided to complete the look and get their crank, water pump and alt pulleys, still waiting on the alt pulley to ship as it was on back order from summit. On first mock up the water pump and crank pulleys fit perfect, the power steering pump was a bit off. Ended up being able to press the pulley on the shaft a tad further and readjusted the pump to help with the alignment, its not perfect but its super close, closer than what it was. Torqued the crank pulley down. Also got a few more belts to see what new size belts i need. Got a few picked out that will work. Need to shave down the pilot bushing for the fan clutch and i can reinstall it along with the fan.

With more snow outside, still waiting for an oppertune time get the power washer on it but at least I ordered some parts today..

I have a small grocery list of items to get this thing lit and driving on its own power.
Throttle bracket and cable...
Master cylinder and go through the brakes.
Convert to manual steering and change to single groove pulleys
Finish the fold down seat conversion and attempt to cruise around the yard.

I confirmed a time to pick up my latest parts car. Only 5 1/2 hours away. Gonna unbolt the seats and console so I don't have to do that in the colder weather, should be 50 where the car is. Selling parts to get other parts!
 
I agree... no snow here but it was an unseasonably cold 8F this morning and isn't forecast to be above freezing until 2 pm. High over the weekend allegedly 57F. If you don't like the weather here, wait five minutes!

Once it warms up I'm going to put an 8.5 or 9.5 PV in my carb because I followed the common and WRONG rule of thumb, and used a 4.5 :realcrazy:

Changed mine from a 6.5 to a 10.5 and it worked out exactly as I hoped. (I only had 8.5 vacuum at idle)
 
The forecasters were wrong again... never got over 31 degrees.
My cam idles at 7-8". I have to find out why the start of the transition is super-lean even with the transfer slots square (severe just-off-idle bog). May need smaller idle air bleeds or drill out the IFRs. Or there could just be a hunk of crud in there. Anyway with the metering block removed to change the PV, that'd be a good time :)

Wiring and hooking up cooling lines today so 1 week and should be ready to start the engine.
I hate wiring but sure is nice getting it all to work.
 
Got the fan clutch and water pump pulley bolted back up. Got the new belts on and adjusted, hopefully i can fire her up tomorrow and Double check to make sure everything is running true. Still waiting for the alt pulley lol

Installing a Bouchillon Performance kickdown cable setup in my '62 Valiant with an LA 408.

It took me a long time to figure out that my old kickdown cable wasn't pulling on the transmission lever nearly enough with my stock Thermoquad, so I bought the Bouchillon kit because they've engineered the correct throttle lever for a TQ. Also, their adjustable cable stop plate is very nice. I haven't got it completely installed yet, so I can't say how well it works. The instructions aren't too bad, but they could be organized a bit better. Randy Bouchillon was really nice to me when I asked him questions by email. They say it will take you about 1-1/2 hours to install the cable. Yes, it might on the second or third install, but the first one takes a lot longer than that because you have to figure everything out.
 
Yours too! Ahhh nothing like a fresh build though. Mines been done for about 7 years and the engine is starting to get a few dirty spots here and there, hard to keep all the nooks and cracks clean lol
I here ya been working on mine getting it restored and just keeping the dust off is hard enough and haven't even started the engine yet.

Seems like it all takes time to figure things out. My biggest problem is understanding the directions.
