I have been doing some research on the Duster shark tooth grill and I read some other threads about them being molded in black plastic or silver plastic, and the different ways they were painted.
I have one that is molded in black plastic and is painted silver, but the fins are still black. Does that mean it was a 71 or a 72 grill, and is it from any special option package, such as a hood blackout treatment that some people have commented on. Thanks for your input.

In my opinion the 1970 grille looks better anyway.

I have one here out of a non V24 car. The car was 340 3spd. Bahama yellow with a black vinyl too . No black out on hood or 340 wedge. It is sitting next to me at my desk. It is a molded in black grill painted silver and the fins are black. As you described.

I also like 70 grilles with the extra chrome top and bottom. I have already added that chrome to a Sharks tooth looked neat . the guy colored keyed the surround upper and lower plus the headlight rims the color of the car like a Sizzler. 69 grilles are also nice. first place is sharks tooth then 70 then 69 . 71 and 72 standard are good for parts like a 4 door car. LOL

In my opinion...the 69 valiant grille looks better still
(And there are 2 of em for sale on this forum today)

I agree, The 69 valiant grill is nice. I was seriously thinking of buying this car. This is the valiant of my dreams . I may just pull the trigger if the Duster don't start getting worked on.

I've been told the sharkstooth grille was designed to work with the demon tail lights, but somehow those ended up on a dodge, and the sharktoots only on Plymouth

The valiant grille just works so much better with the duster tail lights...almost like they were designed to go together

The Valiant grille looks great on your Duster, like it was designed for it.
My favorite grilles/taillights are the ones that follow the lines of the car, instead of standing out on their own. For me it’s about the symmetry.
