1969 Dart GT vert- small bolt pattern- 8 3/4 POS
Currently running Cragar SS 14x7 all the way around with 235/60x14 BF Goodrich TAs

Need (4) new tires. I did a lot of searches on FABO- but still not clear on fit. Checking Cragar website and want to make sure Im on the right track.
Im leaving 14x7 on the front- the 235/60 just fit with occ rubbing when full car. May drop down to 225/60.

Want to get a bigger tire on rear. I was thinking of going 15x8 on back but worried about fit/backspacing/etc. Also what the largest tire I could fit without trimming wheel well? Theres about 1" space now (not equal both sides).

Was hoping 15x8 with 245/60 or 255/60 but have concerns... would I be better staying with 14x7? And will 245 or 255 fit under there?
Also the 14x7 and 15x8 shows available only in uni-lug in SBP?

Here are the specs:
14x7 SBP 4.125 BS
15x7 SBP 4.125 BS
15x8 SBP 4.25 BS

Any help or suggestions appreciated.

Post a head on and rear view on pavement photos.

I say narrow the fronts and leave the rears alone.

I have a pair of new 15×8 direct drill pattern 5×4 small bolt SS cragars with MT drag radials for sale $450

You can get 235 tires on the back, but the rear end needs to be perfectly centered first. This is if you don't want to relocate springs, raise it, or start cutting away sheet metal. 7" rim with around 4.25" backspacing should work. Does not matter if they're 14" or 15" diameter, the width is where the clearance issues are. I got tired of playing around and trying to force too-big tires on my '69 GTS. Finally just put 15x7s on it with 225/60R15 tires all around. No more rubbing anywhere.

I thought that the Cragar S/S for the 4" bolt pattern were made specifically as a "special" wheel. I know they have a unique look to them. The ones I had like 10 years ago took a regular shank type lugnut. I do not think they should be specifying a "Uni-Lug", or whatever those stupid things are called!

I thought so too... but this is how they list it now. Unless I am reading it wrong?
08/61 S/S for 4" SBP are uni-lug
61 C S/S only for 4.5" are direct-fit

I am 98% certain that the only ones that are Uni-Lug are the ones where two or more bolt circles are listed. The whole center casting is unique when it has the 5 x 4" pattern. The wheels even use a smaller center cap. This is what the 61C 15 x 7 looks like (1521912402B):

Those holes look pretty round to me, and the specs at Summit Racing says it has 4" or 101.6mm bolt pattern (equal).

I rolled that fat lip on my 69 gt vert with a heat gun and wooden bat. Squeezed in a 225 70 r 14 without a spring relocation kit.

I’ve got 14x7 Cragar with 235/60x14 on there now all the way around- no problems. Liked the ability to rotate as needed.
No alterations to springs. Occ rub up front but fit well in rear with an inch clearance tire to fender...
Want to go 245/60 or 255/60 in back if I can.
