So the VW bug i built came back today.

I know it's rough but the owner has no money and will use anything he has to get the job done.

I built the cage, the coil over set up, engine, trans mounts and some other stuff.
The owner did all the rest.

Its a 68? VW bug running a subaru STI engine and 6 speed manual trans and now a 100 shot of N20 (@j par )
Engine is right behind the driver seat with trans out the back.
When i built this i had never seen it done. This was all figure it out on the fly kinda work.

Also i built this car for free so... yeah.....

Note the big drag radials on bead lock wheels and huge flared fenders.

Hydraulic E brake for drifting (he lives in the city and drives like a mad man.)

Also notice the pink fury hand cuffs???

Dont ask, don't tell????

This is still my favorite build. There is just so much to look at and it is such a mix of pis poor and awsome. Its crazy.

He took me for a ride today and i would say mid 11s. Its fast for a street car.

He may do pikes peak when i get the car to pass tech.

Enjoy!

Cool build! Hard to say what I think of it overall with the mix of everything...but it is pretty cool.

The consistent inconsistency is quite compelling, and fun!

Love subie boxer engines and love old bugs... Put them together?!

Awesome man!

Its funny just how poorly the car is built but it all works....

Can you imagine if this pulled up next to you at a light?

I wouldn't even bother turning on the 2 step. Then light goes green and HE IS GONE...

One reason i did this was he had issues with the car carrying the front end and had no steering. Flippin the engine and trans aroumd moved a lot of weight over the front so now he can turn under throttle.

I almost forgot.

@j par

This guy is running a 100 shot right into the throttle body. No boost control, no timing retard, nothing but a button.

Stock engine.

Today we made 4 hits before we started to draw attention and brought it back in the parking lot.

Not that a subi engine and a SB mopar are the same just saying this guy has been liberal with the spray and all is well so far.

The owner is a good friend of mine and im sure if you wanted he would talk to you about your set up?

Just an option if ya want it?

Holy batman I bet that sucker is freaking fast. Sti's are screaming machines anyway put it in a bug with a 100 shot geeeezzzz!

When I was 5 or 6 years old my mom had a bug and when it snowed outside she used to take me "whippin"... she'd crank the steering wheel and do cookies in the street LOL.. any time it snowed I never failed to ask Mom to go whippin...
I'm getting ready to hit that button one of these days LOL...
