727 Question

Have a 1972 Dart with an early 60's 383 but there is no kickdown to the 727 transmission. Will not shift into 3rd. Is this a kickdown issue and can you buy a kickdown for this combination?

It's probably not a kickdown issue. The linkage can be a nightmare. Might go with a Lokar set up. Is reverse delayed?

"Early" '60s- is this a cable shift or mechanical linkage?

Have you tried running the rpm’s up to see if it well eventually go into third gear ?

The number on the drivers side pan rail starting with "G" or "PK" would be a big help to get started on this one.
