Just painted ours - not rattle can. Body color doesn’t look bad at all. For us though, we have a red engine and soon a red car that won’t match the engine. Using black as a buffer between the two reds.
That looks good and much more of a professional job than I did. I did mine with my short block still in the car and used tinfoil to wrap all of the wires and hoses.
