Hey all, had this car nearly two years and finally got around to joining.

it’s a 69, originally a 318 now with a 340. The trans is a 3spd auto with some sort of kit in it i believe, but i know nothing about it. It doesn’t seem to shift on its own. Prior owner put a tiny gas tank in, a line lock, tacky CD player, horrible new gauges and the out of place steering wheel. My goals are to get the interior back to looking original, but wow plastic is expensive.

Enough history

Hi and welcome from New Hampshire . I used to live in Randolph and before that Hanover . If you live in the South shore get ahold of Don Dustardo of South shore Mopars , good guy .

Lived in Baldwinville for many years. Back south where I belong. Welcome aboard!

Hey Charlie, welcome. good looking ride you have there. Love to see more pics. What gauges has it been fitted with? I love that interior. You should be able to find parts here for sure.
I live up on the North Shore....close to the NH border in a little tiny town near Newburyport.
Sounds like you have a manual valve body in that either 904 or 727 torqueflite.

thank you. The gauges are functional but they don’t fit quite right, they rattle around at times, and they just look out of place. To me it doesn’t fit the aesthetic of the car. I’ll try getting more pics of the cluster and such.

I was originally thinking of going all black on the guts cuz it’s so much easier to find. The red and white is growing on me though, and a lot of it is in ok enough condition.

Compared to others, price doesn’t seem unreasonable to me. I’ve seen a few bigger ones with the wood grain. Would ideally love to find something with a Plymouth or fish emblem in the center.
Would go great with your interior.
Loving that red and white combo. You don’t see much of it for sure.

With how i have to shift, google is suggesting it’s a manual reverse valve body actually. Thanks, i learned something already.

i guess it makes sense, with having the line lock, the smaller gas tank, extra gauges, and some huge low hanging headers. It’s basically set up to drive as fast as possible in a straight line.

Yeah , I think Don is from the w hitman area but i'm not sure . I have a daughter in Hanover , one in Stoughton and one in Taunton .

lol I’m in Whitman.

Stoughton, so you know all about town spa then. Most overrated pizza in the world. Good. But it’s just...good.

Here are the gauges. Not the worst, but it all seems a little too out of place. Someone clearly hacked apart the dash because this head unit wouldn’t fit the dash trim, and i see a few different types of screws holding in the trim. The tach is held in by what feels like a single pin connector up top, otherwise it floats in place. Considering the age, the trim is in great shape, i just wish someone hadn’t cut it to fit a horrible aftermarket CD player.

weighing my options on the entire dash really. I’ve torn apart And reassembled the dash of every car I’ve owned, but this is the first car I’ve owned built before 1989. It’s a different breed.
