Update...the old 9 to 5 has occupied most of my time lately but I have managed to get the head back on the car and fire the old girl off....purrs like a kitten...I cleared the carb good and it's working perfect...just need to clean fuel tank and lines and get the brakes working....will post photos and video when I figure out how to do it off my phone or load it on a computer
Hey, great car, great job getting the engine running! When you get there, if possible, post some pics of the rear brakes, wonder if they were self adjusting or not... My dart made in Brazil in 1976 came from factory with non self adjusting rear drum brakes and I am still trying to figure out where they came from... early mopars or simca? Keep up, great car.

No problem I'll do...

Well everything has gone great so far...Engine runs great, got the brakes rebuilt and are the are working as they should, test drive with temporary fuel system was smooth as glass, I got cocky haha. dropped the tank to clean it and inspect it and it is complete junk...its had about 3/8 of a tank of gas in it since the 80's and the top half of the tank is paper thin and rusted through in a couple places...I just tore the metal getting the filler tube out of it. I know no tank is available for it so Im just going to build my own tank...nothing fancy, just a square tank to fit where the original fit in...will take pics of what I do to get a tank to fit. Here is a pic of the old tank...

Man that is ate up! 63 tanks fit almost, just not as clean, sender is in the front at the rear end.

Does the sending unit clear the rear end OK?
I have also been told by a friend that is a previous Toad owner, Deal is to find 63 tank IF they are somewhat different than a 64 0r 5 maybe. I see some companies sell them as one tank to fit all.
I was lucky that my Toads tank was repairable.

Sounds good guys...Thanks for the help...Ordered a tank and hopefully get it in next week sometime.

New Gas tank is installed...waiting on my tires to get in then will be ready for a road trip..

I got my new 1962 Lancer drug out of its dungeon and into the sunlight for the first time in well over a decade. Im the 3rd owner of the car. The car was originally white and it was painted sometime before 1980 (because the oil change sticker is over the blue paint). I guess somebody just didn't like white. :) It has 3,004 miles on it...that might be good or might be bad. The body is rust free and the interior is in great shape. The last oil change was in 1980 when it had 2,916 miles on it. Since 1980 it has had 88 miles put on the car. Its just a cool old A body. I plan on trying to get a little more history on it to see why it has such low miles.

The first thing I plan on doing is pulling the plugs and see what they look like and sprinkle some Marvelous Magical Mystery Oil in the holes for a little cylinder lube let it sit and see if I can role it over. Then Ill go from there. Any advice about this im all ears. I will Keep yall posted.

For anyone who cares , the picture of the brakes above does not have a self adjuster . Self adjusting brakes came out in ‘63 on the a bodies .

Dang that is one sweet find !
FeMo give us an update please .

Everything is going great...i had to replace the radiator the other day. But it is ready to cruise. Ive touched pretty much everything on the car due to it sitting for so long but it runs and drives great. Going to Cruisin the Coast with it in a few weeks. I've enjoyed getting it back on the road.
