To the best of my knowledge these are correct for 1968 273-340 engines. Asking $100 OBO for the pair. Shipping will be $25 anywhere in the US. Located in Winchester, TN and local pickup/meet is fine too.

Re-read my post. I said they will fit a 340 but they are NOT CORRECT 68 340 valve covers.

Those are correct 340 valve covers. I think maybe you are confusing 340 and 273 covers. 273 had the ridges

Pal, I have 2 sets of CORRECT 68 340 valve covers , one set is on my lo miles 68 340 that I
've owned for decades and the other set I have as a spare. The CORRECT 340 covers have a large rubber coated sheild on the right side (pass side) for the wires that go to the temp sender and alternator. This is to protect the wires from the heat crossover. AS someone suggested above look in a 68 parts book and there are different numbers for 273/318 covers and 340 covers in 1968.

Formula, can you just upload pictures of the covers to settle the debate? Didn't want a sale thread to turn into an argument.

That's all fine and dandy, and I'm not trying to be a smart ***, but post pics. There are approx 3-4 recent threads in 68-69 340 valve covers and pics help.
Be nice to make a sticky with proper pics.

I was just trying to help that other fellow that's been looking for them, and trying to help you make a sale!

Trust me I appreciate it! formula_s is getting all worked up and I was more directing that towards him. If I were being adamant that something else was a correct part and I had one, I would have posted a picture a long time ago instead of resorting to the "Pal" comment he made.

We gotta keep in mind there were midyear changes possibly. Thing with valve covers is no part# was stamped on them. I believe they came over the counter with a label stuck to them?

I always went by the loom clips. 67 and 68 had the 2 on each end down low 69 had the tall one with 4 on the back and 70 went to the twist top oil cap. 67-68 is the only 2 years that im aware of that had the tube pipe oil fill with the short 2 wire looms.

Can you post correct 68 340 covers please?

My 68 Formula S has the long bracket in the middle of the pass side for the wire harness... However most of my small metal tang tabs are broken off and I need to have new ones welded on... It does have the tang for the alt wire on the end of the pass side...

But here's what's on my 68 340 S for what it's worth to you guys...

So tangs as well as the loom bracket?
Thanks Karl.

That's what came on mine...

However the engine was rebuilt before I bought it, but the guy only had one Mopar so he most likely did not confuse them or mix them up with others..
