Hello Mopar nuts,

I have a '69 swinger that started life with manual drums. I have converted to Mopar discs from a later model Dart. Not wanting to have a power booster in the way of everything...Why did mother Mopar have to put EVERYTHING on the left side?!? Could the battery and starter have been put on the right side where there is nothing? Anyway, using a Centric manual Master cylinder Part# MC36406. It has the recess for the petal rod retainer but is not drilled for the boot retainer. Do I need one?

I saw the ramman had one that fits on the mounting studs......

Thanks!!

What's holding the piston in? If its held in with a snap ring, I wouldn't be too worried. If there's nothing holding the piston in, I'd say the master cylinder was made wrong. If you look at the old service manuals, the plate with the boot holds the piston.
