Hi Richard, Im looking to replace the black headliner in a 72 duster 340. Im having difficulty trying to figure out what was in there. Im looking at whats called a Perforated Fine Pembrook. Would you know if this is correct?

thanks for your help

Not to hijack the thread, but i too looking to ask about my headliner. It a hard "plastic?" material with texture not soft cloth. Also, any write up on how to replace/install the new headliner?

I have a 1974 duster, it came with the cardboard like headliner , that was flaking, i like the look of the 6 bow perforated, so i pulled the 6 bows from a 71 duster and ordered a perforated one from R.E.M., i have already put a new wind shield in and don't have the sharks teeth under the top of the gasket in rear window, so i looked at a lot of the new ABS one piece on line. Most are built by Acme, so on rockauto they had them uncovered for $178 and that's what i ordered, $44 shipping, you can buy them already covered for a higher price, mine was textured and i used black plastic spray paint , ,I still have the black perforated R.E.M. never opened ,and i have the 6 bows, not trying to jump in front of anyone ,but i am not going to use them, so if anyone is interested , i will take $100 for the 6 bows and headliner, so pm me if you go that route

To my knowledge, the 72-76 Dusters used the molded fiberboard style headliner with a foam backed cloth style covering similar to what your more familiar with on the more modern cars. In addition to the fiberboard style headliner, an ABS style headliner is available as well in either a covered fabric or non-covered fashion.

It is to my understanding that all of these headliners are coming from ACME out of Long Beach, CA. They do not sell to the public, so you will have to go through someone like Stock Interiors, Rock Auto, Legendary, etc.

Some people have gone the route as as @robert flippo outlined. The deal that he has posted is a great offer price wise if you should want to go that route.

In regards to the correct material as to @directconnection340 asked, the factory OEM materials was the fine pembrook perforated grain. The perforated grain is what most vendors sell as it is much easier to obtain and is cheaper to purchase and retail.
